ALBAN, AND THE ROBOTS

In the robot community, everything is generally calm, very calm… The robots are not programmed to be tough, they are not programmed to shout or to hurt…
Living with the robot is really peaceful, and once you get the basics of the community codes (e.g. ignore everyone and everyone will ignore you) you generally feel safe.

Tomorrow will start the annual Apple developer conference.
Like (almost) every year, it will start be a keynote, where the Apple iCEO Steve Jobs showoff the new worderfull product of his company.

Tomorrow, everyone knows thinks that the new iPhone will be presented. A brand new iPhone, with a 3G+ capabilities and many more new exciting features wich was expected on the first version but finally…no ! To be short : tomorrow, everyone is waiting for Apple presenting what they should present us last year : a real up-to-date Mobile phone with amazing Apple stuff inside.

Today, it’s Sunday and the weather forecast isn’t good : the rain will start to fall from the grey sky soon.
So my program for today is quite easy : stay at home, geeking with my computer and watching TV ! Cool isn’t it ?
Actually the realizability of this (fantastic) project is due to only one factor : my girlfriend’s out today, and she left me alone here ! She went for a yoga session with one of her friends.

I don’t know why, but I think that almost all girls I met in this country are practicing yoga !
It’s popular here, and there are plenty of yoga club everywhere !

Some days ago, we was talking about that with Remka and Marc, because a girl at the office want to bring them to a yoga lesson… We reach the conclusion that yoga is kinda gay… (yeah I know, boys talking together are generally not so smart.)
Marc and I have a very good substitute, what we are calling the “yoga for men” : golf. Really ! It have all the qualities of yoga : like concentration, relaxation and muscle activity but with some more man-relatives stuffs like competition or gadgets !

But the thing is that girl are more courageous than boys ! and that’s why, by this rainy day, she’s out for yoga and I’m here at home !

Have to post something to activate plugins… strange but, I execute the orders !
Nothing to say for a first post is maybe not a good thing… But for my defence, it’s 2h44AM right now, and this is certainly not the better moment for my brain to try to write something relevant and/or inteligent !
I will finnish up this setup tomorrow, and then, write something more… interesting, maybe !

While the ultrasupertube event, we used to put a computer in the Superdeluxe, to let our guests continue adding videos in the list, during the party.
For the last event, I prepared this simple application, to search, watch and add youtube videos, in only one simple window.
We called it Ultrasupertubed!

I made it with the Adobe AIR 1.1 framework, in pure actionscript.
Unfortunately, it will certainly never be distributed, as I’m not sure youtube really allow people to download video FLVs… But working with AIR is so nice, I’ll do other stuff with soon !

With the whole USN team, we organize different events. One is called UltraSuperTube.
UltraSuper, because of what you want, and Tube.. For Youtube !

The concept is simple, 5 massives screens, guys VJing Youtubes videos, and a lot of fun !
We prepared a little website, to show events basic informations, and were peoples can suggest their favorite videos to prepare the next event.

You just have to past the URL of your fav youtube video on the page, or you can even use the bookmarklet to add video directly from youtube !

This is the second version of the UltraSuperNew K.K. agency website.
Remka can talk with better words than mines about the concept, but for my part, it was a quick and funny build website. Just a simple SQL structure to handle news and project entry. Many fun with Jquery for exemple with the news page and the project images, and some Google map integration.

One other fun stuff to do was the Flickr Flash banner in the “About” page, with this mix of Flickr photos tagged with “japan” and “smile”.

Flightclub is the first big project I had to realize in UltraSuperNew.
To resume, it’s an online community website for Japanese travelers to share their European travel stories, realized for KLM japan.

The website have all the basics key features of any user generated content platform (friendship, following, comments, send-by-mail…)

This is a PHP/MySQL project, proudly build with the Symfony Framework.
All the Javascript are based on the Jquery library.

Just a little anecdote, with Flightclub, KLM Japan (and UltraSuperNew) won the KLM ‘global innovation award’ in 2007.
